Listening to the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest score in iTunes with the visualizer on is like watching 2001: A Space Odyssey but with better music.

The really nifty music from the first Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire trailer? That I've been trying to figure out where it's from for months?

Turns out it's actually from the movie (which is a surprise, since trailers rarely include music from the movie proper).

If you'll excuse me, I'll be keeping track 3 on repeat for a while. :D

"Across the Stars" is a beautiful piece of music. But it's not doing a damn thing to keep me awake.

I really need to sleep more than four hours a night. :-/

John Williams won't be doing the score for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Frankly, for the first two movies William's score and Alan Rickman's performances were the only two things to make the movies worth bothering. (Azkaban was worth watching though, IMO.) And while Azkaban didn't feature much use of the themes from the first two scores, they were there. (Most noticeably in the Quidditch match, though the bits that sounded like they were "borrowed" from "Anakin Defeats Sebulba" are gone.)

Now, though....

Well, let's just say I'm not keeping my hopes up.

Meh. Only seven hundred words tonight. I could do more, except I have to get up early tomorrow, so caffeinating myself as per my usual procedure would be a bad idea. :-/

On the bright side, it turns out that The Bourne Supremacy was a heck of a lot better than I'd expected. I thought it was almost as good as the original; the only low point was that it felt like they reused about half the music from Identity. I wouldn't have noticed if I didn't like the original's music as much as I do, though....

And also, it turns out that I won't have to work Saturday like I'd thought I would, so that should give me lots of time to write. I know I need to go back through and expand a couple of things, like background; while I'm working with preexisting characters (this is for SNW), I need to work in details of exactly how my thorough screwing of T'Rul occurred. :)
