Rewatching the first season of Battlestar Galactica. I'll probably have more comments later, but for now I just wanted to point out that apparently Doc Cottle beat House to the painkiller addiction ("Six Degrees of Separation").

I think that this week's Battlestar Galactica was a very good Stargate episode.

Okay, now, I understand why would would release novelizations of movies, or of TV episodes, that won't be available on DVD for a while. Especially when you have said novelization come out near the related work, and it's likely to include significant extras. That makes sense.

What doesn't make sense is releasing a novelization for a two-year-old miniseries, already available on DVD, and long enough that I don't think there's any significant room for expansion.

Let's just say I'm not overly excited about the BSG novel line at the moment.... :-/

The SciFi Channel, last year, offered deleted scenes for some episodes for Stargate: SG-1. This year, not only are they offering deleted scenes for Battlestar Galactica (in QuickTime, even, versus the RealMedia they had before), but they're also starting to offer downloadable commentaries by Ronald D. Moore.

In other words, their site is replicating everything you'd find in your typical DVD set. I wonder how this'll affect sales, especially since they'll probably be making some money from the DVD sales. (At least, I hope they did on the miniseries since it had their logo slapped on the box....) It's a great idea, and I hope they keep doing it; I just hope it doesn't also bite them in the butt.
